你知道TED大会吗？

TED，代表科技（Technology），娱乐（Entertainment）和设计（Design），这三种推崇创意的领域共同塑造了我们的未来、我们的社会。TED由美国私人非盈利基金会 Sapling Foundation 于1984年创建于加利福尼亚。从1990年开始，TED发展为每年一度的头脑风暴盛会，邀请不同领域的杰出思想家、实干家和艺术家讲述他们的事业创想和反思、人生故事和感悟，将他们的激情与数百万观众分享。如今，TED的议题早已延展到各种与关注人类、革新创智相关的领域，并从美国走向欧洲和亚洲。

 

什么是TED全球海选？

今年TED大会在演讲者的甄选流程上再度创新，加入全球海选项目。2012年四月到六月，TED将在全球六大洲十四个城市举行公开海选，以寻找那些未被发掘却值得世界聆听的杰出人物，代表声音和新鲜想法。全球的TED社区网络将有机会对这些极具潜力的演讲者进行投票，同时他们将有机会被邀请称为正式演讲者参加TED 2013大会。TED将通过此次海选决定超过半数的大会正式演讲题目。

2013年TED大会的主题为“The Young. The Wise. The Undiscovered.”

上海地区海选由TED和TEDxShanghai合作举办。2012年5月17日，美国TED大会的主策划人Chris Anderson和他的团队会来到上海，进行TED大会演讲人的上海现场甄选。届时我们将从通过网络申请的一分钟视频里，挑选30－35位到上海现场进行3－6分钟的演讲甄选。最终获选的演讲者将有机会免费赴美在一千两百多名观众前演讲，并被近两千五百万的全球TED粉丝关注。

＊此次海选接受中文演讲，但英语演讲将被优先考虑。

 

我们特别欢迎以下领域的杰出人物参与此次甄选：

• 教师 － 与我们分享对青少年或者成年人具有意义的知识和新颖的教学方法
• 天才少年 － 蓄势待发的青年才俊

我们不接受属于以下情况的申请：

做产品推销的、掉书袋的、傻X、不知所云的、拙劣山寨者、自我推销的、宣扬世界末日的

此外，申请者必须未曾在TED美国大会，TEDGlobal，TEDActive进行过演讲，或者没有在TED.com/talks 上有演讲视频。（我们不是不爱您，只是让我们留些机会给那些“未被挖掘”的人物吧）

 

 

我如何申请参加海选？

我们的海选将首先通过网络接受申请并收集演讲视频。此后TED将在全球14座城市进行的现场甄选。上海场将与2012年3月29日截至申请。2012年5月17日 ，30－35位者将受邀免费飞赴上海参加上海场的现场甄选。 我会随后在ted.com上公开这些参加全球现场甄选的申请者的视频，并通过网络投票和内部评审决定最后参加2013年TED大会的名单。

关于上海场海选，请注意：

• 上海海选申请时间：2012年3月9日至3月29日
• 视频内容应为演讲者的自我介绍并简短概括你的创想、作品或者才能
• 视频的声音质量尤为重要。只要声音清晰，我们接受各种图像质量的视频，您可以用手机、电脑摄像头、各种摄像机录制您的视频。
• 我们建议您在录像前进行小小的彩排，以保证您能在1－2分钟内完美表达出您的特点。
• 如是中文参选者，我们希望您能有朋友做现场翻译。因此，中文参选者需要考虑在不影响您的介绍的精彩程度的情况下精简您的介绍，以保证视频总长度在1－2分钟之内。

TED Worldwide Auditions

Do you know TED?

TED is the annual event held in California, USA where the world’s leading thinkers and do’ers are invited to share what they are most passionate and knowledgeable about. “TED” stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design — three broad subject areas that shape our society and the future. In fact, TED events embrace broader ideas: the ideas that matter in any discipline – our powerful humanity and ingenuity.

This year, TED starts its Worldwide Auditions in partnership with TEDxShanghai.

More than half of the speakers at USA TED2013 will be selected through an ambitious experiment in crowd sourcing: the TED Worldwide Auditions.

From April to June 2012, TED will hold public auditions in 14 cities on six continents seeking to uncover new talents, voices and ideas the world needs to hear. The entire TED community will have a chance to vote on the most promising presenters. And many of these will be invited to join us as speakers at TED2013. In fact, at least half of our program will be chosen this way…

You will be invited to USA;all expenses will be paid and will have an opportunity to give a speech to more than 1,200 audiences in the TED theatre. Also, your idea will be watched by 25 millions TED fans around the world.

Who are we looking for?

Anyone can apply to audition, so long as you and your idea and story is :

• Original
• Heartful
• Global
• Inspiring
• Worth spreading

 

 

We’re especially looking for:

• THE INVENTOR … sharing an innovation with world-changing potential
• THE TEACHER … sharing valuable knowledge in a memorable way to teenagers or adults
• THE PRODIGY … young talent ready to break out
• THE ARTIST … who can showcase their work in a compelling, new way (Don’t just talk about it. Show us your work!)
• THE PERFORMER … music, dance, comedy, drama … or something entirely different
• THE SAGE … wisdom the world needs from those who have learned it the hard way
• THE ENTHUSIAST … with an infectious passion about a topic they can share
• THE CHANGE AGENT … helping shape the world’s future with work that matters
• THE STORYTELLER … vivid, original, meaningful … with a talent for connection
• THE SPARK … with a powerful idea worth spreading

 

Who aren’t we looking for?

Product-hawkers, jargon-junkies, dullards, wafflers, motivator wannabes, self-promoters, spouters of new-age fluff.

Additionally, speakers who have a talk listed on TED.com/talks, or who have been invited to speak at a TED Conference, TEDGlobal, or TEDActive — are not eligible. (We love you, but this is about undiscovered talent.)

 

How does the audition process work?

• Online audition applications, which include the option to upload a short video, will be available for each city at least two months before the audition.
• From those submissions, TED will invite 30 of the best applicants to each audition, where speakers will have 3-6 minutes to deliver a proposed talk in English. Anyone – with the exception of those who have already spoken at an official TED Conference or have a talk on TED.com – is eligible to apply to auditions in his or her nearest city. In some exceptional cases, TED will contribute to travel costs.
• After auditions in each city have been held, TED will post video of all candidates’ talks on TED.com and likely Tudou.com, inviting the public to vote for their top choices.
• Many of the 50 most popular selections will officially be invited to speak or perform at TED2013, and will make up at least half of the program.
• TED will offer coaching and audio-visual support as needed, as well as cover travel and accommodation to Long Beach, California.
• Members of the top 50 who aren’t a fit for the program will nonetheless receive global recognition on TED.com.

 

How are winners selected?

After all the auditions have been held, we will post video of all the presenters on a special area of our site. You and other members of the public will have a chance to vote for the ones you think are best. We will then tailor our program from the top 50. Successful candidates will have the chance to deliver a longer talk or performance at TED2013 and we will offer coaching and AV support as needed. We will cover accommodation for the entire conference.

 

How do I apply?

We will collect the application and short videos around 1-2 minutes through http://conferences.ted.com/TED2013/auditions/shanghai.php

 

Notices:

• Open for auditions: march 9th – march 29^th 2012
• The 1-2 minutes video should include an introduction of yourself, your idea, your craft, and your talent
• The quality of sound is more important than the video recording. We accept any format of video, recorded by mobile phones, webcam or a variety of video cameras, as long as your voice is clear.
• We suggest you to practice and rehearsebefore submitting the final (good) one to assure your exceptional idea is well expressed in 1-2 minutes.
• If you speak only Chinese, please arrange an interpreter to stand next to you in your video. In this case, please be brief, precise and audience drawing.
